2020-2021

The Suppliants, by Euripides.

The team worked on the edition of the book "Le Tragique en espaces. Les Suppliantes d’Euripide" in the Topos Collection by Editions Le Manuscrit, which is due at the end of July.

Oedipus at Colonus, by Sophocles.

- Text analysis

Due to lockdown, we analysed each episode and stasimon during meetings held on Skype once or the twice a week.

- Translation

Jacqueline Razgonnikoff has made a new translation of the tragedy that we have collectively revised.

- Experimentation / Workshop

In September 2020, we travelled for ten days to Archanes, Crete, in order to experiment on the individual staging proposals of the play in Fourni's open-air theatre.

- Choice of proposals

Because of the pandemic, we viewed via Skype the photos taken in Crete of each team member's proposals for every episode and every stasimon. After discussion, we opted for our final collective choices.

- Rehearsals

In May and June 2021, we rehearsed the movements of the Chorus in Paris out in the open (either at the kiosk of the Jardin du Luxembourg or at the quai Saint-Bernard)

 • Seminars / conferences

We have been unable to organize our annual seminar in Crete in September 2020 and 2021, as well as our conference in La Maison de la Grèce in Paris due to sanitary conditions.
